RCF Monitor Speakers in "The Casa Bonaventura Ferrer", Barcelona
When RCF Pro Distributor in Spain, Pro3&Co were appointed to supply a sound system for the newly refurbished Casa Bonaventura Ferrer in Barcelona, they faced two distinct challenges. The first was to create a sound system that would fit in the very particular needs of the venue. The second was the venue itself. Built originally in1905 as family house, this six story building was later bought by Deutsche Bank to be used as offices. The building was listed in 1979. When the bank decided that it had no further use for the building, they got together with the city government to have it completely restored. The aim was to convert the ground floor into a reception area for functions such as launches and receptions. The basement area has been transformed into a private bar and nightclub. With this in mind Pro3&Co decided to specify RCF Monitor speakers for the project. Over all they used 34 MR55 and 14MR88 in white plus 4 MSW subs. The designers had specified a lighting system that would “literally shed a new light on the building’s interior” so any loudspeakers had blend in with the whole environment. By specifying RCF Monitor speakers in white, Pro3&Co achieved both the audio quality needed, plus a system that would fit into the overall design. Pro3&Co’s Xavi Oliver* commented “We were very proud to be involved in such a prestigious project, in choosing the Monitor speakers, we knew that they would do the job acoustically and look good.”
